Spirit
You
love me when I do not love myself
You trust me when I do not trust myself
You believe in me when I do not believe in myself
You are my saviour in my world of despair
You are
my light, my hope, my love and my life
You are the spirit within me who fights the darkness of my thoughts
You are the spark that lights the flame within my heart when it is cold
You are the meaning of my life
You are the essence that is GOD
You are ME and
I am YOU
I am the soul
that once was lost
I am the breathe of life itself
I am the phoenix from the flame
I am the fragrance of the earth
I am the brilliance of the sun
I am YOU and
you are ME
We are SPIRIT
and our spirit is free.

A house is built of logs and stone,
Of tiles and posts and piers;
A home is built of loving deeds
That stand a thousand years.

Where is the road to happiness, It is somewhere on life's route,
and the kind of destination that is worthy of pursuit.
With optimism acting as a guide, the maps inclined
to show the road to happiness is not so hard to find.
Author J M Robertson

A prayer in poetry
Oh God, as I go out in my life and to work each day,
Please help me help others of this I sincerely pray.
Help me always to see all the worlds true beauty around me,
To miss nothing even when my eyes are closed, please continue to let me see,
All in and around me, on land, in the sky and in the large seas.
Thank you for the colourful flowers I love which help the insects and
bees,
Thanks for all the wild life throughout the globe and the
different tree shapes,
Help those animals in danger of extinction and the many species
of apes.
Thank you for my friendships, and all kindness from my friends
shown,
Thanks for letting me make mistakes, working them out and in my
mind grown,
I also thank you for the loves in my life, my children, the sun, the wind,
and the rain,
Thank you for my happiness that comes many times after the pain,
Thanks for all loves wonders and all the loves I have known
Not just humans but companionship of animals when on my own
Thank you for just being there whether you are needed or not
Knowing those in Spirit are with me all times that really means
a lot.
Thank you for calming me when I am angry and when I am in pain
From the bottom of my heart Divine Spirit; I thank you once
again.

Peace
Peace is walking down a lane,
Dry earth refreshed by gentle rain;
Its glimpsing glowing stars at night,
And found in silent seabirds flight.
Its found when Springtime gardens fill
With blossom and bright daffodil.
Its everywhere if you just look,
in music, art and well-loved book.
Open your eyes and you will find,
Beauty of sight and heart and mind,
For trees and moors and hills and dales,
Are where Gods harmony prevails

In Times of
Sorrow
In times of sorrow and heartbreaking grief,
it's hard to remember to keep your belief.
Behind the scenes there is a greater force,
guiding the events of one's chosen course.
There is no perfect date or perfect time,
for loved ones who are left far behind.
Emotions and words cannot describe,
bewilderment or questions of, "Why?"
In times of sorrow you may not believe,
that over time your heartache will cease.
Through love and care of family and friends,
your strength will increase; your tears will
soon end.
This is a time to remember the past,
your life together that flew by so fast!
Happy moments of laughter and fun,
not marred by anger or ever outdone.
Two souls experiencing lessons to share,
with purpose and focus, not to compare.
Beyond comprehending the ebb and the flow,
life proves delightful and easily shows.
In times of sorrow it is hard to perceive,
why certain loved ones are destined to leave.
The wheel of life is a game we all play,
it will call you by name on your chosen day.
But this is a day that the soul re-unites,
to a higher power as brilliant as light.
It's a time to rejoice to the peace that this
gives,
a joy that is shared for a soul that once lived.
In times of sorrow you'll feel daunting fear,
but don't let this block you, let others stay
near.
Stay true to yourself and trust in your heart,
you are never alone and are never apart.
When you're feeling lost things aren't what they
seem,
so pay close attention to all of your dreams.
During this state your energy blends,
with loved ones in spirit, for there is no end.

Point of View
I've heard it said, "Don't go to bed while hanging
on to sorrow.
You may not have the chance to laugh with those
you love tomorrow."
You may not mean the words you speak when anger
takes its toll.
You may regret your actions once you've lost
your self control.
When you've lost your temper and you've said
some hurtful things,
Think about the heartache that your action
sometimes brings.
You'll never get those moments back, such
precious time to waste,
And all because of things you said in anger and
in haste.
So if you're loving someone and your pride has
settled in,
You may not ever have the chance to say to them
again,
"I love you and I miss you and although we don't
agree,
I'll try to see your point of view, please do
the same for me."

More than meets the eye
A drunk man in an Oldsmobile they said had run the light
That caused the six-car pileup on 109 that night.
When broken bodies lay about and blood was everywhere,
The sirens screamed out eulogies, for death was in the air.
A mother, trapped inside her car, was heard above the noise;
Her plaintive plea near split the air, oh, God, please spare my boys!
She fought to loose her pinned hands; She struggled to get free,
But mangled metal held her fast in grim captivity.
Her frightened eyes then focused on where the back seat once had been,
But all she saw was broken glass and Two children's seats crushed in.
Her twins were nowhere to be seen; She did not hear them cry,
And then she prayed they'd been thrown free, Oh, God, don't let them die!
Then firemen came and cut her loose, but when they searched the back,
They found therein no little boys, but the seat belts were intact.
They thought the woman had gone mad and was travelling alone,
But when they turned to question her, they discovered she was gone.
Policemen saw her running wild and screaming above the noise
In beseeching supplication, please help me find my boys!
They're four years old and wear blue shirts; Their jeans are blue to match.
One cop spoke up, They're in my car, and they don't have a scratch.
They said their daddy put them there and gave them each a cone,
Then told them both to wait for Mom to come and take them home.
I've searched the area high and low, but I can't find their dad.
He must have fled the scene, I guess, and that is very bad.
The mother hugged the twins and said, while wiping at a tear,
He could not flee the scene, you see, for he's been dead a year.
The cop just looked confused and asked, Now, how can that be true?
The boys said, Mommy, Daddy came And left a kiss for you.
He told us not to worry and that you would be all right,
And then he put us in this car with the pretty, flashing light.
We wanted him to stay with us, because we miss him so,
But Mommy, he just hugged us tight and said he had to go.
He said someday we'd understand and told us not to fuss,
And he said to tell you, Mommy, he's watching over us.
The mother knew without a doubt that what they spoke was true,
For she recalled their dad's last words, I will watch over you.
The firemen's notes could not explain the twisted, mangled car,
And how the three of them escaped without a single scar.
But on the cop's report was scribed, in print so very fine,
An angel walked the beat tonight on Highway 109.
He who has a thousand friends has not a friend to spare.
This morning when the Lord opened a window to Heaven, He saw me, and
he asked: 'My child, what is your greatest wish for today?'
I responded: 'Lord please, take care of the person who is reading this
message, their family and their special friends.
They deserve it and I love them very much. '

The truth in you
I
seek the truth in you
The weak lie is not you
So speak up, yes you
The truth hurts but it works
The truth simplifies and dignifies
The truth sooths preserving your youth
I ask the truth of you
Cry now, take a tissue
So speak up, yes you
The truth signifies and modifies
The truth is within and the best way to begin
The truth is a good start especially for
sweethearts
I need the truth of you
Simply choose your venue
So speak up, yes you
The truth to any degree
Is a starting point to be free
Just like one and two make three
So speak up, yes you
If you agree

Blind faith psychosis
What is it then that makes them pray,
that makes them creep and crawl all day,
that makes them read some silly script,
their pride and confidence slyly stripped ?
What is it then that transfers their minds,
to heavens and angels and spiritual kinds,
to attend Cathedrals in little groups,
then dress in robes as exemplar troops ?
What is it then that makes them build,
on fertile land where food was tilled,
huge Mosques; and Cathedrals too,
just to sing and confess anew?
Does it help in anyway,
to wile away the hours of day,
dressed in best and on their knees,
praying to anything and making pleas?
Is it selfishness that makes them think,
we all need them to cower and shrink,
on our behalf at their request,
so that our souls be sublimely blessed?
The whiff of selfishness stirs the air,
I think it’s just themselves they care,
the work is easy and less to think,
from competition they wilt and shrink.
This God they advocate with fuss,
when ask for proof, they won’t discuss,
O proof, O proof; what for you need ?
the devils home you’ll go with speed.
My lucid mind begins to stir,
I’m in the hands of a blackmailer,
I only ask; for what your sales?
they came back as hard as nails.
So business then shall prevail,
In Woolworth’s by an honest sale,
the Church an inquisition me thinks,
proof of God surely brinks

With God in Meditation Oneness
I wondered what it was this oneness
Was it something I could find in less
Was it something that is not in me
Putting it off wanting to wait and see
Yet here I am wondering again
I was in my mind and body feeling pain
Because of things going on in and around me
People say time heals I will wait and see
I am putting things off time and again
But in time it brings back that nagging pain
I want to go forward not back from here
I have tried drinking bottles of wine as well as the beer
Nothing for me seems to bring back normality
For me nothing as yet to make me feel free
Of this pain in my troubled mind
Wont someone help me oneness to find
Normality again so I can peacefully sleep
At night time roll over and not make a peep
I was taken to a Spiritualist church near by
Of the two hours I felt it really did fly
Enjoying strange ideas with others of a wide range
After a few weeks they were not all that strange
There were Circles, workshops, Mediums healing the sick
All doing it naturally and with kindness not any trick
I tried dowsing and browsing books I had not before seen
Where had they been hidden where had they been
I wondered why previously I had my blinkers on so tight
Now I see other things around me looking so bright
Where has this new found sight come from
It is hitting me like a very strong atomic bomb
Has it been the meditation I have begun to enjoy
I am like a newly born lamb bouncing with joy
Like in a kinder garden with the young kids
Excitement when opening new boxes and lift their lids
It is the same every time I learn something new
Within this thing called Spiritualism I just utter phew
I read as many books of this subject as I can
Surprised at Christian people physical seance tried to ban
Establishment killing a Medium by breaking Circle sitting
I place it here because I find it very fitting
The many wonders I am now finding out here
I now don’t get lost in wine or the beer
I drink the water of knowledge and alcohol less
I lose myself in the energy of Meditation Oneness
Knowing how to link with Angels and Spirits in Gods realm
Guided by my own helpers in Spirit at the helm
I meet them on a regular basis when I close my eyes
Yes really, I do not tell any porky pies [lies]
Learnt how see Spirit and feel when they are near
My so called friends poo poo and do not want to hear
They dismiss the truth I am beginning to learn
All the time tell me those books I should burn
I have dismissed the blinkers and all the blind faiths
Over those so called friends I am beginning to tower
I get lost in the wonders of Spirits energy and power
Sitting with Spirit in Meditation is the thing for me
Try it yourself don't dismiss it and you will see
From within building you up more, not less

I AM THERE
Do you need Me ?
I am there.
You cannot see Me, yet I am the light you see by.
You cannot hear Me, yet I speak through your voice.
You cannot feel Me, yet I am the power at work in your hands.
I am at work, though you do not understand My ways.
I am at work, though you do not understand My works.
I am not strange visions. I am not mysteries.
Only in absolute stillness, beyond self, can you know Me
as I AM, and then but as a feeling and a faith.
Yet I am here. Yet I hear. Yet I answer.
When you need ME, I am there.
Even if you deny Me, I am there.
Even when you feel most alone, I am there.
Even in your fears, I am there.
Even in your pain, I am there.
I am there when you pray and when you do not pray.
I am in you, and you are in Me.
Only in your mind can you feel separate from Me, for
only in your mind are the mists of "yours" and "mine".
Yet only with your mind can you know Me and experience Me.
Empty your heart of empty fears.
When you get yourself out of the way, I am there.
You can of yourself do nothing, but I can do all.
And I AM in all.
Though you may not see the good, good is there, for
I am there. I am there because I have to be, because I AM.
Only in Me does the world have meaning; only out of Me does the world take form;
only because of ME does the world go forward.
I am the law on which the movement of the stars and the growth of living cells
are founded.
I am the love that is the law's fulfilling. I am assurance.
I am peace. I am oneness. I am the law that you can live by.
I am the love that you can cling to. I am your assurance.
I am your peace. I am ONE with you. I am.
Though you fail to find ME, I do not fail you.
Though your faith in Me is unsure, My faith in you never
wavers, because I know you, because I love you.
Beloved, I AM there.

The Prayer For Protection
The Light of God surrounds me.
The Love of God enfolds me.
The Power of God protects me.
The Presence of God watches over me.
The Mind of God guides me.
The Life of God flows through me.
The Laws of God direct me.
The Power of God abides within me.
The Joy of God uplifts me.
The Strength of God renews me.
The Beauty of God inspires me.
Wherever I am, God is!

“Prayer for Protection” is one of two Freeman compositions
carried to the moon by Apollo astronauts. In 1969, Edwin “Buzz” Aldrin took the
“Prayer for Protection” along on the first manned moon landing. A microfilm copy
of Freeman's poem “I Am There” was left on the moon in 1971 by Apollo XV
astronaut James B. Irwin.
They were written by James Dillet Freeman for all soldiers during World War II.

"On the very first flight to the moon, on Apollo 11, astronaut Col. James Aldrin
carried Unity's 'Prayer for Protection' with him. He did not know me or Unity.
"It has appeared in hundreds of different publications that have no connection
with Unity, and millions of people have carried it around on cards that fit into
their pocketbooks, pockets, and billfolds. It has been translated into many
languages. Sometimes it appears with him as the author. Often no author is
given. Sometimes other people are named as the author.
"It has been changed and changed again before it reached the form that it now
has that best meets people's needs. This prayer is the product of much thought
and concentration and of a mind that was willing to stay open to receive divine
inspiration."

Ray of Hope
When you need a lift in order to cope,
you might be given a ray of hope.
Maybe you'll see this in different ways,
through colours or shapes on display.
A bed of tulips looking cheery bright,
have the power to make you feel just right.
With bobbing heads dancing in the breeze,
they can make you feel at peace with ease.
Combining colours of red, orange and pink,
a ray of hope that's completely linked.
To give your spirit a natural lift,
this ray of hope is nature's gift.
So take some time to gaze around,
a ray of hope imbedded in sounds.
Through birds chirping their morning song,
inviting you to sing along.
The mountain beyond the clear blue sky,
is a ray of hope standing high.
With strength and courage at its peak,
it's ray of hope is what you seek.

Judge Gently
Pray don't find fault with the man who limps
or stumbles along the road
Unless you have worn the shoes he wears
or struggled beneath his load
There may be tacks in his shoes that hurt
though hidden away from view
or the burden he bears, placed on your back
might cause you to stumble too.
Don't sneer at the man who's down today
unless you have felt the blow
that caused his fall or felt the shame
that only the fallen know
You may be strong, but still the blows
that were his if dealt to you
In the self same way, at the selfsame time
might cause you to stagger too.
Don't be too harsh with the man who sins
or pelt him with word or stone
Unless your are sure, yes, doubly sure
that you have no sins of your own
for you know perhaps if the tempters voice
should whisper as softly to you
as it did to him, when he went astray
it might cause you to stumble too.

ANGELA
When Angela was very young,
Age two or three or so,
Her mother and her father
Taught her never to say NO.
They taught her that she must agree
With everything they said,
And if she didn't, she was spanked
And sent upstairs to bed.
So Angela grew up to be
A most agreeable child;
She was never angry
And she was never wild;
She always shared, she always cared,
She never picked a fight,
And no matter what her parents said,
She thought that they were right.
Angela the Angel did very well in school
And, as you might imagine, she followed every rule;
Her teachers said she was so well-bred,
So quiet and so good,
But how Angela felt inside
They never understood.
Angela had lots of friends
Who liked her for her smile;
They knew she was the kind of girl
Who'd go the extra mile;
And even when she had a cold
And really needed rest,
When someone asked her if she'd help
She always answered Yes
When Angela was thirty-three, she was a lawyer's wife.
She had a home and family, and a nice suburban life.
She had a little girl of four
And a little boy of nine,
And if someone asked her how she felt
She always answered, "Fine."
But one cold night near Christmas time
When her family was in bed,
She lay awake as awful thoughts went spinning through her head;
She didn't know why, and she didn't know how,
But she wanted her life to end;
So she begged Whoever put her here
To take her back again.
And then she heard, from deep inside,
A voice that was soft and low;
It only said a single word
And the word it said was... NO.
From that moment on, Angela knew
Exactly what she had to do.
Her life depended on that word,
So this is what her loved ones heard:
NO, I just don't want to;
NO, I don't agree;
NO, that's yours to handle;
NO, that's wrong for me;
NO, I wanted something else;
NO, that hurt a lot!
NO, I'm tired, and NO, I'm busy,
And NO, I'd rather not!
Well, her family found it shocking,
Her friends reacted with surprise;
But Angela was different, you could see it in her eyes;
For they've held no meek submission
Since that night three years ago
When Angela the Angel
Got permission to say NO.
Today Angela's a person first, then a mother and a wife.
She knows where she begins and ends,
She has a separate life.
She has talents and ambitions,
She has feelings, needs and goals.
She has money in the bank and
An opinion at the polls.
And to her boy and girl she says,
"It's nice when we agree;
But if you can't say NO, you'll never grow
To be all you're meant to be.
Because I know I'm sometimes wrong
And because I love you so,
You'll always be my angels
Even when you tell me NO."

Don't be afraid of the year, don't be afraid to begin,
Just open your mind and open your heart, let love and hope enter
in.
Don't be afraid to let go, saying good bye to the past,
seek for a rainbow and search for a star and keep a few dreams,
hold them fast.
Don't be afraid to be glad, tears are not for sorrow,
welcome the future and step through the year; look for the
sunshine tomorrow.
Author Iris Hesselden

Make this day a happy day, make it work for you.
Put the zest and joy of life in all that you do.
Love and laugh, be positive, enthusiastic, bright.
Say no to all that is negative; soon all will turn out right.

The Spiritualist
A Spiritualist it is, you profess to be,
Then answer these questions and we shall see.
Do you lean to God or lean to man,
Is your pleasure in giving or to take all you can?
Do you pray for all or only the few,
Do you do unto others as you'd have done unto you?
When you meet up with the gossip, do your ears turn away,
Or prefer to listen and be the same as they.
Do you cling to someone because they're of use,
And don't care about others you know they abuse?
Whether you're right, or wrong, do you go your own way,
Or be guided by Spirit, and pay heed to their say.
Spirit teaches on love, but here is a fact,
Your free will is yours, and up to you how you act.
When you sit in those circles for development,
Do you give help to others, or their gifts resent.
Are you jealous if another's progression is high,
Do you think it's not fair and ask "But why?
Should it not be me, I've waited so long?"
Do you think that the law of God is wrong?
Are you true to yourself, or merely pretend,
Are you really a Judas feigning the friend?
Would you help those gifted to the top of the tree?
And could you honestly say "I don't mind it's not me."
Do you see the beauty in a Spiritual face,
Or in envy, half turn from the Light of Grace.
To a confidence betrayed would you listen with glee,
And be honoured to think that this person trusts me.
Or would you think of the saying of words wise and true,
What they'll do to another they'll do unto you.
This life is a schooling, it depends how you learn,
Great gifts of the Spirit we all have to earn.
If you've awakened to truth, then you will know,
That there's no doubt about it, you'll reap what you sow.
On the pathway of Light, the desire is to teach,
And the best way is to practice all the good that you can preach.
In the religion of love you must first understand,
If you cannot obey, then you cannot command.
Do you recognise the truth when it stares in your face,
That all of creation in this world has a place.
If you act on the things you know are forbidden,
Does your consciousness, God, tell you nothing is hidden?
For when you pass through the veil, your true self will be shown,
And all that you've done to those you have known.
The Spiritualist Movement deserves only the best,
Sorting the chaff from the wheat is the Great Spirit test.
For many have learned and there's many agreed,
What they thought was a flower, just turned out a weed.
No one can judge you, for there are only TWO,
When the time comes for judgement, there's God and there's YOU.
If these questions you can answer, and truth is your aim,
May God bless you and help you, you are all that you claim.
No apology is offered if these words offend,
For in the service of TRUTH, one CANNOT PRETEND.

Birthday Poem By Ouina her guide.
The day being the birthday of Mrs. Cora L. V. Richmond, one of the audience
there at the gathering sent up the subject.
"Our Pastor's Birthday."
In a little valley among the hills--
Hills that reached up almost to the sky,
Watered by many dancing rills,
With groves and meadows sloping by,
And flowers that in the wildwood grew,
And birds that came at the springtime's call,
A little child met the earthly view.
O'er canopied by the sky was all
That held the message pure and sweet,
When time at last the child should greet.
A little later the lips were made
To speak the words of truth and love
Where e'er the visions were o'er laid
Until then, with what might never move
The lips of men and woman to prayer,
For the fear of God was lurking there.
But when the message of love came forth,
The little girl gave truths in speech
Beyond what human thought could prove,
Beyond what her tender years could reach.
Many listened and understood,
And thought the way and teaching good.
So as she, year by year, went forth,
And the message grew as her life grew,
The words were filled with beauty and worth
And made human hearts uplift to the view
Of a God of Love and not of Hate;
A new and wondrous world it did create.
Father and mother, and friends drew near,
And men of Science, of learning and art,
Wondering what their ears could hear,
That the lips of a little girl could impart;
And, when from out the realms of love
The ministrations came, more wise
Than her years in feebleness could prove
They listened and looked with great surprise.
And--you know the rest: The years went on and on:
No limit to the message was given,
Because the stream that fell upon
And through her brain was born of heaven.
The tokens of love, and power, and truth,
Were given from loving hearts the while:
Many pitied and scorned her youth,
And the words given, some thought, to Beguile,
As being the words of Satan, whose power
Held souls in evil thralldom that hour.
But never a word of scorn or pride,
And never a thought of hatred or blame,
Could touch the heart of the little child;
She went on and on, until the flame
Of the light of truth and love went forth,
And was known to many people of Earth.
You have known that child; years have gone on,
And the ripened fruitage is here today;
Your lives these teachings have shone upon,
They have lightened your burdens, brightened you way;
And the great truths given, by God in love,
To every clime and people of earth
Have now, in this later time, power to move,
And bring knowledge of its glad rebirth.
Thus are you rejoicing here today;
Because you love her, we understand,
You love the truth that has lighted your way,
And you love the touch of the unseen hand,
And, that the Angel of Truth the Dark Earth
Awakens to the knowledge of Higher Birth.
Many are there that were here sometime;
One by one they have crossed behind the screen
And veil that divide you from the sublime
Way of God. It is most kind, tho' unseen,
That this veil is extended; that in the dark
You sometimes seem to be walking alone,
But if you ever for their dear voices hark,
You will hear the loved, the familiar tone.
More are there whose faces once here were seen,
Than on this side of the narrow stream called death,
The congregation from time to time has been
Diminished; there 'tis added to; as in a breath
It will almost seem but a moment of time
'Till you also will pass to that height sublime.
And the congregation, as of yore,
Will gather around 'neath the light of love
That has taught and led them years before;
And those who in the unseen realm still move,
Bless the day and the hour when was given
The little child to them, an instrument
By which to show the power from heaven
That can unto earth be sent.
Who now even as an instrument doth stand
With human heart and affection deep;
Loving your tender clasp of hand,
And loving your hearts of love to keep;
But well aware that the truths that are given
Are not of hers, but of the Love of Heaven.
