 Einer Nielsen Medium      Denmark

born in Denmark  -  died February 26 1965

Here is another Physical Medium, Einer Nielson who in 1922 had the wolves from the people of Christian church in Christiania, Oslo at his heels baying for his blood trying to denounce him as being a fraud. Einer Nielson was so incensed by the accusations. In 1924  he put himself through all sorts of rigorous tests in Reykjavik and sat many times in front of the researchers from the Physical Research Society of Iceland, who had many trusted, eminent, high ranking people of that society and many scientists belonging to that society. The documented happenings were recorded by the writer Einar H Kvaran, there were many plainly seen levitations and telekinetic phenomena also materialisation which amazed the audiences as sometimes there appeared two at a time near Einer, and this was a when he was in full view of the sitters. Baron Schrenck Notzing also brought the Medium to the attention of the general public.

In 1932 the unfortunate Einer who lived in Copenhagen at the time was again accused of fraud by the Johs leader of his Circle, a well off Johs Carstensen published a damming pamphlet [probably jealousy]. Einer Nielsen took Johs Carstensen to court for slandering his name but unfortunately lost his case in the same year. He continued to sit for the Spirit World but never again for the public only sitting with trusted friends. More photographs of this Medium on page 3 of the photographs click here.

Einer Nielsen was born In Copenhagen, Denmark In 1894. Trained as a physiotherapist and followed the profession throughout his life. He past to the higher life in 1965.
His first physical mediumship seance took place when he was just a young man of 17. He sat in test conditions for psychical mediumship many times and in many places in Europe.
He worked in the light as well as in the dark. Einer's guide was called Mica. She controlled Einer during his seances and in most of his Circles where he demonstrated full materialisation, independent voice and trance work.

Einer travelled all over the Nordic country's delivering his message and took part in many demonstrations of Psychical mediumship.

In the winter of 1915, Einer was put into prison after a demonstration of psychical mediumship, He was incarcerated for a short time. Einer's criminal activities were of his demonstrations of psychical mediumship and serving the Spirit World. One gentleman who was at his seance was very angry, and after the materialisation, he called the police. His anger was a result of him being given a piece of material as an apport. Einer was suddenly brought back from his trance state when the man became angry and demanded Einer to get down on his knees, asking God to forgive him for demonstrating the intelligent forces from the etheric world. The man was very religious Christian person and he blamed Einer for bringing Spirit through. He got Einer arrested for producing a materialization of a false Spirit. Einer had to spend a little time in a prison cell, but was later released. There was NO conviction, and NO evidence that he had done anything wrong. The obsessively religious Christian man felt he had to do Gods work and accuse Einer Nielsen for being non Christian man.

Einer and a materialised Spirit.

Einer sat successfully sat many times for psychical research scientists, in many countries, all sittings to our knowledge were successful and he was given the green light that his mediumship was authentic. Einer then gave him self completely to development his psychical mediumship. He Started a Danish Spiritualist Church in Copenhagen in 1930 and today this is going strong.
In 1965 he became an honoured guest at the International Spiritualist Federation in London. They gave him an honour in recognition of the work he hade done for Spirit and people around the world.

Einer spend a great deal of time travelling in the Nordic countries giving demonstrations. Many photographs were taken of him with ectoplasm being shown, and he developed Spirit materialisations in low light. He was never afraid to demonstrate or to be tested.

Einer's love for music and ballet brought him frequently to the Royal Copenhagen Theatre, were he spent a lot of time listening to the music, and watching the Ballet. Einer loved Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake performed by the Royal Danish Ballet. One wonderful evening at the Royal Copenhagen Theatre, Einer was happy, sitting in the balcony watching the show, during the second act, Einer passed in to his higher life.

He had been told by Mica, his Guide, that one day, when he was happy and his time was over, he would cross over into the Spirit World very quickly.

Sent to me by Joanne Platt thanks. It is so necessary to pass information onto each other.

Is that neat folds in the material near the bottom, I can see ? This kind of thing always makes me suspicious of the photograph do spirits do their own ironing?

Notice that the Medium Einer Nielsen is not inside the Cabinet; his materialized Spirit is fainter. This full materialization is apparently "walking" around the sitters, and its transparancy is seen on this materialized Spirit with the unknown sitters and the Medium in the background.

From the book Solid Proofs of Survival    Einer Nielsen

I met Mr. A. for the first time at a seance in a friend's house. He was very much interested in the question, "Is there a life after death?" He had never before attended a seance, and knew about Spiritualism only through books. At the first seance he was very enthusiastic, and one of the sitters said that the spirit communicators would do everything in their power to get him convinced.

One night when we drove home from a seance, he said, "There are things, anyhow, we cannot get to know, and which I do not think the spirit world can tell us."

"What do you mean?" I asked.

"It is my secret," he answered.

Six months later, at a seance, a female entity came out of the cabinet, went straight to him and said: "I am your first wife, Bertha, whom you deserted. You left me alone with our child, and after great sufferings I died. My body is buried in the cemetery of H., and our daughter lives in great misery in L. Try to find her and help her; in that way you may compensate the wrong you have done." Then she vanished, dematerialising in the midst of the floor. She was one of the last entities who appeared that night, and soon afterwards the seance came to an end.

After the seance I had great difficulty in returning to normal, and, when I at last succeeded, I staggered to a divan to get a rest. In the meantime, Mr. A. tried to explain away to the other sitters his matrimonial experiences. His first wife had been insane as she died, and that was perhaps the reason why she talked now as she did. He had heard that people awoke in the same state as that in which they had died, and so on. While he talked, I felt that somebody stood at my side, and I clairvoyantly saw a young lady. At once I fell into trance, and the young woman began to talk through me, and said, "What he is saying is not true; he left me." If Mr. A. had been moved during the first message, he was much more moved when he heard her protest, and instead of continuing his explanations he fell silent.

I did not hear from him for some days, but then he came to me and spoke of his youth, about which he had been thinking, and about which he was quite sure nobody knew anything. He had not thought for a moment that his wife could materialise. Now it had actually happened, and the experience had been so convincing that he had to acknowledge the fact that it was really she. He told me about his youth, how at the age of twenty he had married a good and nice girl as young as himself, but that soon afterwards he began to lead a wild life, to drink with his friends and spend money on his lady friends. He wasted the money his father had given to him just before his wedding, and he neglected his business. His wife had wept and prayed him to fight against his passion. He ought to have remembered that in a few months' time their first child was going to be born. One day, discovering that he was ruined, he went away and did not return home. After many years he came back as a well-to-do man and got news of his wife. She had sold her furniture and, after her little girl was born, she had secured a position as housekeeper in a widower's house. She was taken ill with tuberculosis, but was allowed to keep her position as long as she could do her work. Two years after the birth of her child, she died in a hospital, and no friends attended her funeral at the small village cemetery. The little girl was educated by strangers. Now she was married in L., but had to struggle hard for her living. He had not yet met her, but wanted to do so.

Some days later Mr. A. went to the village where his first wife had spent her last years, put a nice memorial tablet on her grave and prayed to God to help her and to forgive his mistakes. His next task was to seek out his daughter. She was surprised to meet quite unexpectedly a wealthy father. After many explanations he persuaded her to accept help from him.

After all these experiences he came once more to me and attended a seance at which his wife appeared. She had followed him, and had seen him at her grave, heard his prayer, and gone with him to their daughter. She was happy that he had helped her, and after relating all this, she, a spirit, and he, a human being, knelt together on the floor in the middle of the seance room and prayed for God's blessing for both of them.

At such a moment heavenly happiness may befall us human beings, and I know that the people who attended the seance that evening will never forget it. It will be written with bright letters in their book of remembrance for ever.

During the psychic conference of Society for Psychical Research, some of the foreign researchers participated in a couple of seances with the Danish medium Ejner Nielsen. He had made a specialty of disgorging large quantities of ectoplasm, and this he did so convincingly that the famous researchers took him for the real thing. The Danish society pursued the matter, arranging a series of control seances. In December 1921 the daily B.T. printed a statement by the society to the effect that “Ejner Nielsen is a genuine trance medium, and that portions of white matter may appear in connection with his body in a way which at present is inexplicable, but in any case does not rely on sleight of hand.” Signed Grunewald, engineer, Krabbe, M.D., and Dr. Winther.

Naturally this created a stir. Ejner Nielsen was invited for further tests at Kristiania University in Norway, and the Norwegians sent him back home stating they had caught him cheating. To the newspapers this was heaven-sent. They printed pages and pages on the matter; the readers chuckled and shook their heads. The society was made to look ridiculous and it took years to straighten things out. And then the next scandal was already well under way.

The Ejner Nielsen affair also hurt the society internally. It created a rift between the faithful spiritualists and those of a more sceptical position who thought Nielsen had been swindling – either deliberately or unconsciously. (As for the latter interpretation one must say that a man who is capable of unconsciously cramming a fistful of gauze down his throat is quite a danger to himself.)

The spiritualists outnumbered the sceptics, and their influence was felt very much during the 1930's and 40's. While J.B. Rhine at Duke University was busy establishing modern parapsychology using Zener cards, dice, statistics, and ordinary people as subjects for experiments, people were still sitting at 7 Gråbrødre Torv discussing spirits and ectoplasm. When at long intervals it was decided to carry out an experiment, people would start looking not for a subject, but a medium.

In 1921, pending the Ejner Nielsen seances, supervisors Grunewald and Winther privately embarked on a series of experiments to find out whether the human mind could influence swinging pendulums. The Medium was a young lady by the name of Anna Rasmussen. The results were positive but not sensationally so. They did not come to public notice.

This Photo is said to have been taken in broad daylight, one day when Mrs. Fensboll visited the Medium, Einer Nielsen. The Spirit materialized suddenly during her visit.

Queen Astrid Materializes To the left is photo of Queen Astrid who materialized during a seance in Copenhagen, Denmark. At that time, the event cause considerable discussion about the reality of materialization phenomena. Queen Astrid, wife of King Leopold of Belgium, died in a car accident.

To the right is a photo of Queen Astrid, for sake of comparison. For those present at this seance, there was no question about the reality of the materialization nor the credibility of the Danish Physical Medium, Einer Nielsen. We have no additional information regarding this event.
